- Make aesthetically pleasing headers, using 1 font for headers & 1 font for normal text
- Create multiple columns of contained text boxes that will scroll
As has been common during this project, there were moments that I failed, and it was time to consult resources on the Internet, including some of the ones I had added to my Pinterest board. One of my frustrations last week was that for some reason, there were two navigation bars at the top of each site page, and I didn't know why. Back I went to W3 to look at what they said about navigation bars! Their demo on navigation bars was pretty helpful. In the past I had tried a vertical navigation bar, but I decided that I liked the vertical one much better. It seems to be working now.
Looking at other areas of aesthetic appeal, I wanted to make a little header of my own. Now that took some doing. I had to find an image that I liked that was tagged for reuse; then I had to figure out how to make the image opaque enough that the text would show up on top of it. I think after some tinkering, the banner also turned out.
But the Resources for Students page still looked a little empty, so I added one more column. And, again surprisingly, I didn't screw up the whole table by doing so. It is going to take me a while to get used to all the td's, tr's, and div's. But I have time to get used to them, because I still have many more resources to add!
