There are already a lot of graphic novels that are adaptations of classic works. Unfortunately, they're not free, but they're out there. I couldn't have adapted more recent works, because that would probably be copyright infringement. And really, if I'm being honest with myself, I probably couldn't have adapted any works very well, because I don't have the time, talent, or tools to go really full-boar on creating a high-quality, visually appealing comic book.
So, as much as I loved the idea, I will be going with HTML coding instead!
I'm going to try creating my website on Google Sites. The edit page says that I can "Click the HTML button to edit the HTML on your site. Please keep in mind that we do limit the amount of editing that can be done. Some advanced coding won't work." I don't expect that I will be doing very advanced coding, so I think we'll be good!
Areas of this project:
- Play: I will be playing with the coding, trying different strategies, in order to get the website to look like I want it to. I can also learn from others on forums.
- Making: I will use coding to make a website that will have resources for students and teachers.
- Knowledge: Using sites like Code Academy and perhaps Khan Academy, I will learn how HTML works and make the needed adjustments in my code to correct my mistakes.
